Take Your Place in His Kingdom

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe.” Ephesians 1:18–19 NIV

Think

When Paul wrote these words, he was praying for the church in Ephesus. He was asking God to open the eyes of their hearts so they could truly understand the incredible inheritance they had received through Christ.

I have been praying the same prayer for you. God has given us so much, yet so often we live as though we are beggars. We forget who we are and forget what has been given to us. Most importantly, we forget whose daughters we are. As daughters of the King, we need to understand our position, our posture and how we should see ourselves in the Kingdom. Our position in God's Kingdom is one of identity, belonging, access, authority, responsibility, and inheritance.

As daughters of the King, we are deeply loved children of God, welcomed into His family with access to our Father, an inheritance, and authority through Christ; in response, we are called to represent Him by living in truth, love, grace, and service to others (John 1:12; Romans 8:15-17; Hebrews 4:16; Luke 10:19; Matthew 5:14-16). Being a daughter of the King isn't about status or superiority. It's about using what God has given us to advance His Kingdom.

Act

So, I want to ask you: What would be different if you really took your position as God's daughter? How would you speak differently? How would you think, feel, and respond differently?

When you truly understand who you are, you don't have to walk through life constantly questioning yourself, your worth, or whether you belong. You can live from the security of knowing who you are and who you belong to. When you embrace your position as a daughter of the King, God can use you to lead your family, to be an example in your workplace, to encourage others, to proclaim the gospel and to be a vessel of blessing wherever He places you. Know who you are, know whose you are, and take your place.
