“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 ESV
Think
My biggest prayer for you is that you understand the abundant life Jesus died to give you. He paid such a high price, and He wants to give you not only eternal life, but abundant life in Him here on earth.
But what does abundant life really mean? It doesn't mean that everything will always be easy or that we will never experience disappointment, pain, or difficult seasons. Jesus never promised us a trouble-free life. Abundant life means having His presence, His peace, His love, His purpose, and His strength with us through every season.
To experience this life, we need to walk with Him. We spend time with Him, listen to what He says, and obey when He leads us—not because we have to, but because we want to and because we know He loves us and has our best interests at heart. The more we walk with Jesus, the more His presence changes us. We begin to think differently. We respond differently. We experience peace in the middle of trouble and a joy that isn't dependent on our circumstances.
When we walk with Jesus, we are walking with the Prince of Peace because just His presence brings peace. Psalm 16:11 says, “You will fill me with joy in your presence.” In Him, we are fully loved. People will disappoint us because we are all imperfect, but Jesus' love is perfect. He knows our weaknesses, covers our shortcomings with His grace, and continues to love us completely. He gives us purpose.
Act
So how do we experience this abundant life? Stay connected to Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” When we remain in Him, we bear fruit (John 15:5). Today, take a moment to stop everything and simply sit with Jesus. Put down your phone, quiet your thoughts, open your heart, and spend time in His presence. Talk to Him. Listen. Thank Him. Let Him remind you that you are loved and that your life has purpose. You don't have to chase abundant life. It is found in Jesus.
Pray
Father, thank You for sending Jesus so that I can have abundant life. Help me stay close to You and trust You in every season. Fill me with Your peace, joy, and love. Help me hear Your voice, follow Your direction, and remain connected to You. Teach me to experience the fullness of life You have given me. Amen.
